EVA KIRSTEN PETERSEN-SONDERUP 

Funeral services for Eva K. Sonderup were held in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul on Monday, December 29, 1969 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Elton Walth officiating.
Mrs. Dale Johnson, soloist, sang “Beautiful Saviour” and “Children of the Heavenly Father” accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Johnson, organist.

Pallbearers were Lloyd Berggren, Melvin Sperling, Einer Pedersen, Harold Rasmussen, Stanley Sonderup and Ivan Rasmussen. Interment was in the North Logan Cemetery.
Jacobsen Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Eva Kirsten Sonderup was born July 9, 1895 at Bennet, the daughter of Lars and Anna Petersen. She died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Oscar Oakeson, near St. Paul at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 17 days, while on a holiday visit Friday morning, December 26, 1969.

At the age of seven Eva came with her parents to Howard County, where she received most of early education. On September 5, 1940, she was married to henry Sonderup at Wolbach, where they made their home on a farm. Mr. Sonderup died in 1965. Mrs. Sonderup moved to St. Paul in 1967.

Mrs. Sonderup was a baptized and confirmed member of the Lutheran Church, and was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at St. Paul.

Survivors include four step-daughters: Mrs. Gladys Hansen of Brayton, IA; Mrs. Agnetha Pennington of Alhambra, CA; Mrs. Lois Hansen of Fairfield, CA, and Mrs. Rhoda Christensen of Wolbach; one sister, Mrs. Oscar Oakeson of St. Paul; one brother, Verner Petersen of Grand Island; 24 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.
