MARIUS RASMUSSEN

Marius Rasmussen, 60, a farmer of the Dannebrog community and a resident of Howard County for more than a half century, died this morning in the home of his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Kud Knudsen, 920 West Third Street.  He had been in ill health for the last four months and had come to Grand Island to receive medical care.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Messiah Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Martin Schroeder will conduct the services.  Burial will be in the North Logan Cemetery, near St. Paul.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock Friday evening at the Livingston - Sondermann Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Memorial Wreath of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Mr. Rasmussen was born in Fremont April 30, 1897.  When he was six years old the family moved to Howard County and settled on a farm near to St. Paul.

He and Miss Emma Eline Sonderup were married at ST. Paul March 10, 1932.  mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen farmed near St. Paul until1939, when they moved to their farm three miles west of Dannebrog.  They had farmed in the vicinity of Dannebrog, with the exception of a two-year period during which they lived in Grand Island, since that time.

Mr. Rasmussen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of this city.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Virgil Stonestreet and Mrs. Robert Gans, both of Cairo, Mrs. Galyn Baker, Lincoln, Mrs. Paul Selden, Grand Island and Loretta Rasmussen, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Einer Rasmussen, St. Paul and Mrs. Frank Kolar of Cushing; and four grand-daughters.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Annetta, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Rasmussen.
