July 2015 a new flag pole was donated by the Lloyd Hansen family. This flag pole was obtained from the Holdrege Public School District in Nebraska. The flag pole was at the main entrance to the R7 Rural School which was closed in 2014.

Darrell McGhghy, Donnie Harling and Lloyd Hansen hauled the flag pole to the Cemetery on December 10, 2015.

The old flag pole was removed on June 28, 2016 and the new flag pole was installed on September 24, 2016. Those helping to remove the old flag pole were; Dan Christensen, Josh Christensen, Kevin Hilty and Lloyd Hansen. Those helping to install the new flag pole were; Dan Christensen, Alton Schmitt, Shannon Hansen and Lloyd Hansen.
